Namco Announces Inversion Delay

THE BUZZ: Namco Bandai has confirmed that its gravity based shooter Inversion has suffered a delay.
The title, developed by Saber Interactive, was scheduled to release February 7, but has been pushed back to an “early 2012″ release window. ”This additional development time will allow the team to polish several key aspects of the game ensuring Inversion is of the highest quality,” said the publisher.
EGM’s TAKE: Inversion sets itself apart from other third person shooters by using gravity as its key game mechanic, the shifts in balance will allow players to battle it out on ceilings and up the side of buildings in an ever shifting environment. Gravity can also be used as a weapon in game, with gravity bombs suspending enemies in the air allowing you to pull them towards you. The same can also be done to weapons and ammo. It’s a neat little mechanic that if done correctly could mean that Namco and Saber Interactive have a hit on their hands, and from what we’ve seen so far this might be the case.
