THE BUZZ: Evan Wells—the co-president of development house Naughty Dog—took to Twitter a short time ago to show off a gruesome model for one of the enemies from the company’s upcoming action survival title The Last of Us.

EGM’s TAKE: The storyline concept for The Last of Us involves a fungus that can infect humans and then take over the functions of its host—much like cordyceps fungi, which can infect and control the brains of insects and other arthropods.

So, this bust no doubt shows us one of the many creatures main heroes Ellie and Joel will run into during their fight for survival.

After Wells posted the shot, a few more photos of the model showed up on internet message forum NeoGAF:
