It looks like NBA 2K13 will enjoy another year at the top as the video game industry’s de facto basketball franchise, and its latest trailer fuels the hype. Particular emphasis settles on the physics, which look top-notch.

NBA 2K13 has been hotly anticipated by fans, thanks in combination to a big marketing push by Brooklyn Nets frontman Jay-Z and various updates on the game’s development.

This year, NBA 2K13 will boast a new physics engine designed to handle how players interact when they physically collide on offense and defense, especially when they’re fighting for control in the key.

There’s also been an interesting hook for the game, which will feature the 1992 USA Basketball Men’s National Team, better known to history as the Dream Team. Featuring legends like Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, and Magic Johnson, Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen was the only missing player, but he has since come back to the table and approved his likeness with 2K Sports.

And at the end of the day, that’s the magic of basketball—it brings everyone together.
