A new post on the official EA Sports website outlines the three levels of dribbling moves in NBA Live 14 now possible thanks to bounceTek, the studio’s new physics dribbling system.
In the post, gameplay designer Scott O’Gallagher details all three levels of dribbling moves, complete with video demonstrations (embedded below). The first level involves basic handles such as crossovers, hesitations, and behind the back. These are all navigated through simple flicks and holds of the right analog stick.
Level two introduces more motion and momentum to dribbles by chaining together moves through rhythmic motions on the right thumbstick. Finally, there’s the third level: the NBA stars signature moves. Only certain NBA stars have signature moves, but those who do come equipped with six that are activated by holding a modifier button and manipulating the right analog stick.
The next post from O’Gallagher will overlay a controller scheme to the video demonstration to show how the controls operate to execute the moves in question.
NBA Live 14 launches exclusively for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 19.
