In a new trailer for NBA Live 14, a handful of developers from EA Tiburon talk about real-world data will influence player experience practically in real time.
“I think the thing that NBA Live 14 can hand its hat on—and actually the franchise moving forward—is the fact that we’re going to be relevant all the time,” executive producer Sean O’Brien says in the video. “What does that mean? It means: The right players will look the way they’re supposed to look, will play the way they’re supposed to play every single day. If something happens in the real world the night before, you see it in your game the next day. Actually, an hour from when it actually happens.”
What O’Brien means is that through LIVE Season and CourtQ, statistical information based on real-world player behavior along with analytical data will be factored into behavior in the game, creating a more 1:1 simulation in the game of the game by factoring in hot streaks, injuries, and poor performance.
NBA Live 14 launches for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 19. The PlayStation 4 arrives next week, on November 15 (November 29 in Europe), while the Xbox One hits shelves November 22.
