THE BUZZ: The next title in the Need for Speed franchise will be a sequel to 2005’s Most Wanted, according to a retail listing.

Leak prone South African retailer BTGames currently has a listing for the title on their site, where you can pre-order the game. Criterion is expected to be behind the helm of the next Need for Speed game, whatever its title may be.

The retailer previously outed the Jak and Daxter HD Collection and is currently carrying a listing for Dead Space 3.

EGM’s TAKE: Need for Speed Most Wanted was almost brushed past and forgotten about by fans of the series, it never quite managed to capture the imagination like Hot Pursuit did. The original game revolved around a black list of racers, who you had to beat in one-on-one races in order to be become the top street racer. The game is incredibly popular among achievement hunters due to its easy 1000 Gamerscore.

Would you like to see a sequel to Most Wanted? What other game in the franchise deserves a sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
