Criterion has finally lifted the lid on Need for Speed Most Wanted‘s Kinect support and it turns out that it’s a pretty cool addition.

Usually in Need for Speed games you would need to go to a garage to swap out various mods and get your car kitted out for the next race, but this is no longer a requirement thanks to Kinect. Now if you want to change a mod all you have to do is say which one you want and the game will switch them on the fly.

“For example, while you’re in your SVT Raptor, you can say ‘Mods, Nitrous, Burn Nitrous’ and your car will instantly be equipped with an extra boost that you need,” the developer explained. “Need some slicks for the asphalt? Easy: ‘Mods, Tires, Slicks’ and off you go.”

It’s a really nice feature, however remembering all those commands will probably be a little difficult, especially while being chased by the police at high speeds.
