Netflix Party Removed From New Xbox 360 Dashboard

Posted on December 6, 2011 AT 01:38pm

THE BUZZ: Reports are coming in that as part of the new Xbox 360 dashboard launching today, Netflix Party support has now been removed. Via this features, friends could get together and watch the same movie together, all while their Xbox avatars hung around on the bottom of the screen watching along.

EGM’s TAKE: Though I never personally used this option, I always thought it was an interesting one. Depending on the movie, I like the idea of getting online with friends and watching together. It’s always a shame when features are removed via a firmware update, as companies should be giving us more options, not less. This also seems to be another reason why Netflix on the Xbox 360 really should be available to all users, not just Xbox Live Gold members.

Did you ever use the Netflix Party option? Are you sad to see it go, or do you not care either way?
