New Bravely Default trailer breaks down 12 of the game’s 24 total job classes

Posted on January 15, 2014 AT 11:23am

A new trailer for Square Enix’s upcoming 3DS RPG Bravely Default breaks down half of the game’s 24 job classes, briefly showing each one in action.

The 12 job classes featured in the video (embedded below) will be instantly familiar to any longtime Final Fantasy fans, and include Monk, a high-hp brawler; White Mage, the requisite healing and support magic class; Black Mage, armed with attack magic; Summoner, which can turn the tide of battle by pulling in otherworldly creatures; Thief, a class that touts high agility; Merchant, which exploits and uses coins in battle; Spell Fencer, a class that can imbue weapons with magic; Time Mage, users of Hastega and Comet (and presumably Slowga); Ranger, just another word for archer; Red Mage, a class capable of using both black and white magic, and Valkyrie, acrobatic spear wielders.

Bravely Default launches on Nintendo 3DS February 7, 2014 in North America. A demo consisting of a unique side-story is available for download from the Nintendo eShop. And even if you’re already committed to purchasing Bravely Default, the demo’s worth scoping out because all items and StreetPass tags collected will carry over to the main game.
