Appearing in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Ultra Street Fighter 4 producer Tomoaki Ayono teased that future Street Fighter IV content won’t be limited to just new characters and balance.
“Like the ‘Ultra’ name shows, we’re aiming for updates that go beyond just adding new characters,” Ayano stated (as translated by Polygon). “For us, new characters are just the bare minimum of new features to add.”
Ultra Street Fighter 4 was announced during Evo 2013. The DLC adds Rolento, Elena, Poison, and Hugo (all of whom appeared in Street Fighter X Tekken), a fifth character yet to be revealed, and introduces a host of tweaks and balances to the gameplay.
“Wen I say ‘change,’ though, I don’t mean we’re redoing combos or the whole structure as it exists now,” Ayano told Famitsu. “What we’re looking to do is get rid of the differences in character abilities that have established themselves throughout the series.”
Ultra Street Fighter IV launches on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 as $15 downloadable add-on early 2014.
