A content update for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare brings new tools of death to Season Pass holders and non-holders alike.
The update introduces a new weapon to the game: the R-VN energy assault rifle, which auto-fires a two-round burst and can also be split into a melee mode to allow faster movement and highly-effective close-quarter kills. The base model of the R-VN can be found in Create-A-Class right now for Season Pass holders. Non-holders need not worry, as the weapon can also be acquired by accumulating 200 kills using an energy assault weapon with a particular prestige-earned accessory, or randomly through in-game Supply Drops.
A variety of Prototype weapons—previously exclusive to the Quartermaster Collection—are now also available to craft by all players. The blog post announcing the update details each of the five weapons:
- Reaver – Machete
-Shredder: Melee attacks with this weapon cause enemies to explode
-Stockpile: Increased ammo. (Stacks with Extended Mag)
- Volk – Corruption
-Mo’ Money: Every kill grants extra experience
-Sharpshooter: Increased damage range. (Stacks with Particle Amp)
- Erad – Destiny
-Roll the Dice: Gain 1 random attachment when you respawn
-Readiness: Reload faster when mag is empty. (Stacks with Dexterity)
- DMR-1 – Binary
-Deathbringer: Double kills instantly reload your magazine
-Steady: Reduced hip spread. (Stacks with Laser Sight)
- DCM-8 – Even Keel
-Stability: Reduced recoil. (Stacks with Foregrip)
Finally, a new melee weapon is available for the multiplayer which looks straight out of the recent Rave in the Redwoods Zombies map. This blood covered axe is scary enough as it is, but it also comes with the Hurl buff, allowing the weapon to thrown and recovered, as well as the Haste buff that grants faster movement speed.
All the aforementioned loot is available for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare right now, with more free content expected down the line.
