Bungie is back at it again with the promotion of Destiny 2‘s next expansion, Forsaken. In a new cinematic trailer, players can get a taste of the epic sci-fi drama waiting for them on September 4th.
While the footage mainly covers the downfall of Cayde-6, Guardians finally get a look at how his death will affect the other Vanguards and even the customizable silent protagonist. In a first for Destiny 2, the main character actually speaks to confirm their hatred for Cayde’s murderer, Uldren Sov. It’s unclear if that odd occurrence will happen often in the DLC, but the player’s Guardian has spoken before (albeit infrequently) in the first Destiny. Check out the clip below to see a new battle begin.
A few other familiar faces appear in the trailer, including The Taken King‘s Petra Venj. It seems the follower of the Reef Queen will be striking a deal with the Scorn and Fallen to discover the whereabouts of Uldren. Interestingly, Mara Sov is brought up a few times, offering another tease that the supposedly dead Awoken Queen might be alive and well.
While players will have to wait until September 4th to jump into Forsaken‘s campaign and avenge Cayde’s death, the game’s new major update is now available. As of August 28th, Bungie released a patch that includes several significant updates to the shooter, such as the new weapon slot changes.
Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Forsaken expansion will launch on September 4th.
