Destiny

Update: As seen in Bungie’s latest blog post, the release date for Black Armory was not announced. Instead, the developer revealed the upcoming expansion’s for Destiny 2 will be split into “three distinct seasons.” The first of the three—Season of the Forge—will launch on November 27th and include a “full gameplay calendar to illustrate what awaits your Guardian for the rest of the year.”

It’s unclear how this new season system will work when it comes to the Destiny 2: Forsaken season pass DLC. However, Bungie promised more information will be coming soon with the arrival of what appears to be the Black Armory-themed season in late November.

Original Story: Ever since experiencing the high that was Forsaken, Destiny 2 players have been waiting for the next chapter in the sci-fi shooter saga to arrive. The great news is that if a recently discovered image is to be believed, players could get the new DLC very soon.

According to a recent post on the Destiny subreddit, Bungie might be planning to announce the official release date of the shooter’s next DLC—Black Armory—in today’s This Week at Bungie blog post. The Reddit user also shared what appeared to be a promotional image for the expansion that revealed a December 4th launch date.

While it’s unclear where the user found the picture or if it is indeed real, players should learn more about the DLC soon. Bungie previously revealed that Black Armory would be arriving in December, which not only makes the December 4th release date believable, but it also means Guardians should get some answers within the next week.

If all goes according to the leaked information, there will also be a live reveal stream sometime next week to show off the expansion’s features. For now, players are expecting a possible new weapon type.

Black Armory will mark the first of the three new DLC that are part of the Destiny 2: Forsaken season pass. The other two season pass DLC—Joker’s Wild and Penumbra—will arrive in 2019.

Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
