New EA Origin program ‘On the House’ offers free games starting with Dead Space

Posted on March 27, 2014 AT 02:27pm

Electronic Arts is now offering full PC games for free on their Origin digital distribution service as part of their new “On the House” feature, the company announced.

“We’re gamers, too,” reads a page about the new feature on the official Origin awebsite. “We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home…and besides, who doesn’t like free stuff?”

According to the page, On the House’s free titles “can appear and disappear at any time,” so EA recommends that gamers “act fast.” The page also reiterates that these are full versions of the games, not trials or demos, and once a player claims a game its theirs to keep forever—no time limitations.

The first title being offered through On the House free is the original, 2008 Dead Space from Visceral Games, which is typically $19.99 on Origin.
