Microsoft debuted a new trailer for Forza Motorsport 5 today, as teased last week by way of still frames sent to the EGM office.
The trailer contains Forza 5 gameplay footage brought to life by blowing the trailer out into 680 frames printed on aluminum panels spread across a race track re-recorded by a camera attached to the engine block of a McLaren 12C supercar. As seen in the video (embedded below), the camera angles taken captured in the Forza 5 trailer are duplicated in the filming of the McLaren capturing the still frames, creating a rather interesting, somewhat silly in a pretentious sort of way, but still cool meta trailer moment.
Forza Motorsport 5 was announced during the Xbox One reveal in May. The fifth Forza title will feature open-wheel cars—a first for the franchise—including the Dallara DW12 IndyCar and Formula One cars, the McLaren M23, the Ferrari 312T2, and a car from the upcoming Ron Howard picture Rush, starring Chris Hemsworth.
Forza 5 launches alongside the Xbox One on November 22 in North America and Europe.
