Polyphony has announced a surprise for Gran Turismo 5 players in the form of a new free DLC car, but this isn’t just any old car.

Announced at the LA Auto Show, Chevrolet and Polyphony Digital have joined forces to offer Gran Turismo 5 players a free virtual test drive of the camouflaged Corvette C7 Test Prototype. The prototype “continues to undergo extensive performance and durability testing in preparation for final production,” according to Sony, and is due to release in 2013.

The Corvette C7 Test Prototype is available to download now via the PlayStation Store. A little teaser trailer can be found below.
