A new crossover mission in Grand Theft Auto Online will hone our hunting and tomahawk skills just in time for Red Dead Redemption 2.
A new collection of bounty missions from Maude the bounty hunter are now live in GTA Online, which players will receive by text message. Bringing these bounties to Maude- dead or alive- will complete a challenge that unlocks a new (and previously leaked) Red Dead Redemption 2–themed stone hatchet in the multiplayer experience. Getting 25 kills with the weapon will complete the new Kills Challenge and unlock the tool in Red Dead Redemption 2 when it launches, along with a more immediate reward of GTA$250,000. The challenge shouldn’t be too hard thanks to the weapon’s Rampage ability, which makes the user resistant to damage and regenerate health and can be sustained through consecutive kills.
The previous crossover mission in GTA Online involved a scavenger hunt, from which players could discover one of Red Dead Redemption 2‘s double-action revolvers. This weapon also came with a challenge that earned players GTA$250,000 and unlocked it in RDR2, and this older challenge can still be completed by checking your in-game email.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is slated to launch October 26th on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
