Netherrealm has released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming DC superhero fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Men, providing the first few details on the game’s backstory.

Entitled “A New Regime,” the two-and-a-half-minute trailer features footage of flag flapping the breeze while a disembodied, dictatorial voice rallies humanity against supervillains and superheroes in the wake of a mysterious catastrophe.

While it’s nice to hear a bit about the game’s plot, this trailer definitely creates more questions than it answers. Does the voice belong to Lex Luthor, Vandal Savage or someone else entirely? What’s the disaster he makes reference to? Will that flag be a playable character? I don’t know about you, but the suspense is killing me.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is due out sometime next year on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.
