New Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Character and Costume Details

The latest issue of Japanese magazine VJump contains some brand new Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII details, including the announcement of a new character.

Lumina will make an appearance at some point during the game, according to the magazine–she is said to be both a help and a hindrance to Lightning’s progress. The magazine fails to mention if the character is playable or when she will appear in-game.

Some new details regarding Lightning’s costumes were also revealed. Apparently players will be able to select three outfits going into battle and then switch between them–similar to Final Fantasy X-2. Lightning will also have access to a number of new magical abilities.
