Excited for the continuation of Little King’s Story on Sony’s wunderkind handheld? You won’t have much longer to wait, as Konami today announced the game’s official release date for North America.

New Little King’s Story—which serves as a sequel of sorts to Cing’s original Little King’s Story on the Wii—will be hitting our shores on October 2nd. As Konami explained:

“New Little King’s Story follows players as they assume the role of King Corobo, tasked with reclaiming his kingdom from the Devil King, ‘The Nightmare.’ Players will experience an incredible journey as they visit seven different kingdoms and battle against evil dark lords that have captured the royal princesses. As King, gamers will need to lead their Royal Guard in every grand battle, and plan attacks wisely as they grow their populations and broaden their territories.”

Along with this new storyline, New Little King’s Story will also feature online functionality, supporting things such as downloadable content, online leader boards, and some elements of multiplayer co-op.
