EGM’s TAKE: Containing more than 80 different mini-games, ranging from escaping haunted mansions to racing snowmobiles, there is no way you can’t find at least one that you love. Four player multiplayer support is back and with the new boss battles at the end of each stage, expect a lot more shouting and arguing with your friends. The only way to truly enjoy the magic of Mario Party is with a group of people all in the same room, then you have the right atmosphere required to play this game. As a single-player outing, the series always falls flat because AI can’t replace real people and you can’t really have a conversation with it either. The aim of the series is to bring people together and it usually does that perfectly, expect Mario Party 9 to be no different.
