In the latest video preview of NHL 14, EA Sports gameplay producer Ben Ross discusses some of the improvements and refinements they’ve made to stick handling and stick skills in the game.
As described by Ross, one-touch dekes give access to two go moves and two cut-back moves, while poke checks have been tuned, better timing and accuracy.
“Poke check range has been reduced, so players cannot make unrealistic reaches for the puck behind them,” Ross describes in the video.

NHL 14 skates onto Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 September 10 in North America.
