To prepare fans for the upcoming King’s Row Uprising event, the new Overwatch: Uprising digital motion comic tells us the story before the uprising.
The comic is set in the earlier days of Overwatch, shortly after the Omnicrisis when many parts of the world were still in turmoil. A conflict in London threatens to boil over, alluding to the event’s lore, and Overwatch must decide if it should act despite the country’s decline for help. The conflict was incited by a group of Omnic extremists lead by an individual called Null Sector who will probably play a role in the game’s event.
The hero taking center stage in the comic is Solider: 76, who was still heading the organization at the time. He is the character tasked with the conundrum of deciding whether or not to mobilize, with his decision being swayed by the biggest cast yet seen in an Overwatch comic. Tracer, Mercy, Reinhardt, and Torbjorn are just a few heroes that show up, and numerous new skins can be seen throughout the comic that fans may be getting their hands on during the event.
The digital motion comic is powered by Madefire Motion Books, with the script by lead writer Michael Chu and the art by Gray Shuko. Fans can presumably see the conclusion of the comic’s events when the King’s Row Uprising event launches for Overwatch on April 11th, and fans should keep an eye out for any hints as to the game’s next hero, who is apparently very close to completion.
