Microsoft has detailed some of the improvements that will be made to Xbox One’s party system and social features in the upcoming March update.
In terms of party chat, after the update party chat audio will be turned on automatically as soon as you enter a party and Microsoft has restored the ability to chat with friends who are playing different games (previously exclusive to Skype).
Microsoft is also bringing back the “Recent Players” list that allows players to check out who they met while playing online. An “invite friends to game” option will also make a comeback, allowing players to get their friends into a game quickly. Finally, the friends list will be moved to the front page of the Friends app for easier access.
Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb also revealed that today’s planned Xbox One update has suffered a slight delay and will now go live later this week.
The March update should be available before the release of Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall.
