Sony Interactive Entertainment has released system software update 5.05 for PlayStation 4.
The update is just under 375MB in size and is mandatory, meaning that it will need to be installed to go online. If you hadn’t already guessed it, the update does very little, with its single patch note reading: “The system software update improves system performance.”
Update 5.05 should download automatically the next time you turn on the PlayStation 4.
The last major update for the console was released in October of last year and brought with it the new “Family on PlayStation Network” feature, 1080p 60 FPS streaming via Twitch on PS4 Pro, and the option to swap the color of notifications between black and white.
In other news, Sony is currently accepting applications to take part in a beta test for the next major system software update for PlayStation 4.
