New PS3 Slim Models (3001-A/B) Now Available

Earlier this month a new PS3 model labeled CECH-3001A/B was revealed via a FCC filing by Sony.

Older PS3 models were labeled as part of the CECH-2XXX series, this new generation of PS3′s have now begun shipping out to customers.

These newer models bring the following noticeable changes;

- A black trim below the disk tray

- All LED’s except for the HDD indicator have been removed

- Runs much quieter

- Consumes less energy

Amazon has now begun shipping these new models to customers, so if you ordered a PS3 within the last couple of weeks you may have one of these new slim models.
