THE BUZZ: Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Rayman Origins, showing a diverse variety of gameplay, set to a spaghetti western-style soundtrack.

Origins marks the return of Rayman to his classic, 2D, side-scrolling form. Except now the limbless wonder gets the full HD treatment (on consoles that support it) and the added boost of four-player co-op. Its up to Rayman, Globox and the Teensies — two wizards — to save the Glade of Dreams from the Darktoons. The game hits the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii on November 15.

EGM’s TAKE: While we hold nothing against the Rabbids, we’re overjoyed to see Michel Ancel return Rayman to his proper place, hopping and bopping around beautifully designed 2D worlds. And it’s great to have a platform game other than Mario to look forward to this holiday season.
