THE BUZZ: Capcom has revealed some new details about the recently announced Resident Evil 6.
The publisher dedicated an entire stage to the event at its Resident Evil Anniversary party in Shibuya, Tokyo. An unamed mystery charcter is spotted in the trailers alongside Leon and Chris who was described by executive producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi as, ”the man who’s told to save the world.”
Two pictures were revealed at the event: one of the mystery man and the second of a new enemy known as the ”Javo,” who will have an even, “greater impact than the zombies.”
EGM’s TAKE: It appears that Resident Evil 6 is taking a step back towards its roots with two key tactics developers are said to be implementing. The first is “The fear that lies ahead,” which throws back to the glory days of Resident Evil 1-3 where anything could jump out at you from anywhere, causing you to either smash your head through the ceiling or need new underwear. The second, “Everything is overwhelming,” also goes back to the original games where bullets were a rare commodity. You’d be faced with a crowd of zombies and only have seven bullets in the chamber – now that is real fear. As has already been seen from the trailer the story will begin in America where the President will be making a statement regarding bioterror before being turned, leading to the scenario featured on the trailer. It was also revealed that Resident Evil 6 has the largest staff in the franchises history with over 150 main team developers. That’s a lot of working hours going into this game and hopefully it will show.
