Skate

A new skating game is headed to the App Store next week according to a report at the mobile gaming news site TouchArcade, and it just may be bringing a fan-favorite park from Skate 3 with it.

The new game, MyTP Skateboarding, hopes to deliver third-person skating action to iOS devices in a beautiful sandbox environment showcased in a new preview video released by the developer RNDRLN Games (see below).

Many fans have already commented that the video bears more than a passing resemblence to Mega Park from Skate 3, with a myriad of half-pipes, ramps, and other environmental obstacles with which to interact. It’s unclear from the video if this apparent copying of the Mega Park was authorized or if EA might have something to say about it. The TouchArcade report claims this is the only map that will be included on release, but that other maps may be offered in the future.

Then again, with Skate fans waiting for word on the long-promised backwards-compatible port of Skate 3 onto the Xbox One, this may be just the diversion we’ve been looking for to hold us over until that game or, dare we imagine, a Skate 4 is announced.

MyTP Skateboarding will ollie its way onto iPad, iPhone, and iPod devices on August 11, 2016.
