Spider-Man has finally been detailed with an official name, release window, and new gameplay, all in a new trailer that debuted during Sony’s E3 2017 press conference.

Spider-Man looks to be as fast-paced as ever, with zip mechanics and free-following web swinging that offers a fluid and liberating method of getting around. Combat implements this fluid movement seamlessly, as the hero jumps around the environment, dispatching enemies either stealthily or in open confrontation.

The more story-driven action seems largely scripted, with quick-time events dictating most of the cinematic moments. As long as the open-world retains its freedom, the contrast has the potential to make up a true Spider-Man experience.

Spider-Man is confirmed to be launching sometime in 2018, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
