If you thought that New Super Mario Bros. 2 was going to be any sort of difficult challenge, you clearly didn’t play Super Mario 3D Land last year. Mario’s next adventure on the 3DS is going to have plenty of safety nets for you casual folks, including the White Tanooki Suit that pretty much makes you invincible throughout a while level.

Nintendo World Report replays the news from Famitsu, who revealed the returning power-up’s presence in the game.

Just like before, the White Tanooki Suit becomes available via an Assist Block, provided when you die five times in the same spot. Once you get the Invincible Leaf power-up, you can complete the rest of the level unscathed.

That brings the number of total power-ups in the game to seven, including the Super Leaf, Fire Flower, Mega Mushroom, and the new Gold Flower. Does anyone remember when Super Mario games used to be, well, challenging?
