Studio Wildcard has released a new trailer for Ark: Survival Evolved that compares the game running on Xbox One and the new Xbox One X.
On Microsoft’s new console, Ark will have two different graphics mode available: “Detail Mode” and “Medium Quality.”
In Detail Mode the game will run at 1440p and 30 FPS, with long-range shadows, high quality textures, extended draw distances, and the “TrueSky” system, which offers volumetric clouds, realistic atmospheric fog & sunlight scattering, and dynamic weather systems. While in Medium Quality the game runs at 1080p with Xbox One quality graphics, but gets a bump to 60 FPS.
Other improvements on Xbox One X include the option to split up in splitscreen multiplayer, servers that can host up to 70 players, and faster loading times.
“Ever since the original announcement of the Xbox One X, we’ve been excited to see how far Microsoft would push the hardware specs, and how far that would let us push ARK,” Jeremy Stieglitz, co-founder of Studio Wildcard, said. “When gamers get their hands on this powerful new console, and of course, on the new build of ARK, we expect they’ll be just as impressed as we are with how much more visually immersive the world of ARK becomes.”
Ark: Survival Evolved is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
