New XCOM: Enemy Unknown Screenshots

THE BUZZ: A new set of screenshots for Firaxis Games’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown have been revealed.

The game is due out Fall 2012 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation. Some of the screens are below and the rest can be found here.

EGM’s TAKE: It appears that the game is coming along nicely based on these screenshots. The screens show different aspects of the game including flanking, suppression points and high level vantage areas, which are all key in an RTS title. Also showcased is the game’s third-person view mode which takes you closer to the action and allows you to see the situation playing out in more detail, so you can make better tactical decisions. Firaxis Games has a lot to live up to attempting a remake of the classic XCOM, however if one firm knows RTS it’s them. We are looking forward to seeing what the team can do with this one.
