Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo has revealed that a new entry in the Ys series is currently in development.

Kondo told French website ActuGaming (via RPGSite) that the game is a brand new entry in the series that will take place right after the events of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. No further information, such as platforms or a release window, was shared.

Ys VIII was released for PlayStation 4 and Vita in 2017, before being brought over to Nintendo Switch and PC earlier this year.

The latest entry in the series is yet to arrive on Microsoft’s console, but Ys Origin did get released on Xbox One earlier this year.
