The next entry in the Call of Duty series will be officially revealed before the end of June, Activision has confirmed.
The publisher confirmed during its latest earnings call that this year’s Call of Duty game will be unveiled before the end of the current fiscal quarter, which ends on June 30th.
“We need to do even more to maintain the breadth of our Call of Duty player base beyond the launch quarters, and the Call of Duty team is hard at work on that for this fall’s big content release, excitement for which is incredibly high around the organization,” president and COO Collister Johnson said.
This year’s entry is being developed by Infinity Ward and is rumored to be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. All we currently know about the upcoming game is that it is “rooted in some of the franchise’s most important history“ and will feature an “entirely new” campaign.
In other news, Treyarch recently released a new update for current entry Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 that kicked off Operation Spectre Rising on PlayStation 4. This update brought with it a new specialist, new multiplayer maps, Blackout map changes, and more.
