DayZ creator Dean Hall revealed at EGX Rezzed 2014 that the game’s next update will be released before the end of April.
Hall said during a presentation at the event that he expected the update to be out within the next two weeks if development continued smoothly. According to Hall, the update will include a prototype system for allowing loot to respawn, fireplaces for cooking, and crossbows.
Loot will apparently respawn and doors will reset in a quadrant of the game world after it has been empty for a certain period of time, allowing new players who join a chance to find items.
In the future, the game will get a new pistol, ragdoll physics, and improved AI. A 64-bit upgrade is also in the works, according to Hall, which will allow the game to use more memory, and allow for the implementation of new features.
