The reclusive Infamous developer Sucker Punch Productions does have a new project in the works after all, according to PlayStation Worldwide head Shuhei Yoshida.
A new project from Sucker Punch was one of several notable absences from Sony’s E3 presence at this year’s show, leaving fans wondering if they could expect anything from the studio in the near future. While talking on Gamespot’s stage at the show, Yoshida revealed that the studio did indeed have something coming down the line, already far along enough to be playable.
“I have played many, many more times of such game, and every time I play… I shouldn’t be talking any more,” Yoshida said. “It is a game. They are not making movies. It is now very narrow.”
It sounded as though Yoshida was about to give out some details on the project, but he unfortunately caught himself before we learned anything. For now, we know Sucker Punch is bringing us a new game, but whether that is an Infamous sequel or something else remains to be seen.
Another project that missed the E3 2017 train was The Last of Us Part II, but game director Neil Druckmann attributed this to the developer wanting to give its other project, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, room to shine. There is a good chance both The Last of Us Part II and Sucker Punch’s upcoming title will be shown off at this year’s PlayStation Experience.
