A graphic on the official Madden NFL website contains the release date for the next Madden NFL game and possibly points to a slight name change.

Traditionally, Madden NFL games are numbered by year—Madden NFL 12, Madden NFL 13, and so on. The description on the official website, however, refers to the next Madden as Madden 25. As pointed out in the graphic, the next Madden game marks the series’ 25th anniversary. It would seem the name change, if true, celebrates this fact.

Polygon mentions that it is not uncommon for EA to make Madden-related announcements during the Super Bowl, so it’s very likely more details will surface this weekend, during Super Bowl XLVII.
