The next Mass Effect game is in a playable state, according to a tweet from BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn.
Great time playing the next Mass Effect game in Montreal. Ambitious. Beautiful. Fresh but recognizable. And fun! pic.twitter.com/xHlHFGtVKM

Virtually nothing is known about the next Mass Effect title beyond that it is being developed using EA’s Frostbite 3 engine (which powered Battlefield 4 and will power BioWare’s other upcoming RPG, Dragon Age: Inquisition) and that several BioWare employees have stressed that calling the game Mass Effect 4 would be a disservice to what they’re building. It’s unknown whether the new ME game will be a prequel or take place after the events of Mass Effect 3, but executive producer Casey Hudson has pointed out that the Commander Shepard storyline concluded with ME3.
Flynn’s tweet, presumably, is a sign that BioWare and EA will be revealing the next Mass Effect sometime soon, possibly during E3 2014.
