According to IGN sources, the next Scribblenauts title is bringing Batman into the equation.

IGN reports that the next installment of 5th Cell’s emergent puzzler will blend Scribblenauts with the DC Universe, namely heroes, villains, and environments.

Batman, Killer Croc, Robin, The Joker, Batgirl, Clayface, Aquaman, Black Manta, Harley Quinn, and Mr. Freeze are all named in IGN’s report. They also list Wayne Manor and Atlantis as some of the locations to be featured in the Scribblenauts-DC crossover.

I think it’s worth noting that this is hardly far-fetched—Scribblenauts Unlimited on Wii U saw player-controlled hero Max interacting with Nintendo icons Mario and Zelda, among others.

The title was previous called Scribblenauts Unmasked, but IGN’s sources say 5th Cell are reworking the game game to some extent. The name, it seems, is slated for change—as well as some aspects of the game itself. What isn’t changing, however, is its DC Universe focus.

The new Scribblenauts is in development for PC, Wii U, and 3DS. Expect more concrete details to come out E3 in June.
