Rocksteady’s Next Silver Age Batman Game Won’t Be Written By Paul Dini

One of the best elements from Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City won’t be returning for the next Rocksteady game. Famed DC Comics writer Paul Dini recently confirmed on his Twitter feed that he’s not working on the (rumored) upcoming Silver Age Batman title, and he’s not part of the team behind Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Dini dropped the announcement a few days ago, which was recently relayed by ArkhamCity.co.uk and their team:
Kinda hoped I’d be doing another Arkham game in London during the Olympics.Esp, as I had a good source for tx.Ah, well.

Losing Paul Dini is big blow for Rocksteady, as the Arkham games have created a unique and compelling universe that lies parallel to the official DC Comics’ canon and the popular “Diniverse” timeline founded by DC Animated Universe shows like Batman: The Animated Series, The Adventures of Batman and Superman, and Batman Beyond.
Rocksteady’s rumored Silver Age title is said to focus around Batman’s first meeting with the Joker, according to Variety, and will release in 2014.
That’s a next-gen console date, folks.
Mark Hamill won’t be reprising his role as the Joker, though, so there’s another knock against the game already. On the other hand, that’s not a deal-breaker—maybe Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Entertainment should call the guy who did this video.
