The 1.1.6 patch for the Wii U and 3DS versions of Super Smash Bros. will be arriving soon, Nintendo has promised over on the game’s Japanese page.
The patch is mostly there to tweak a few balance issues, but players should be warned that it’ll wipe existing replays of matches. Be sure to make a backup of any particularly special replays before downloading the patch.
While Nintendo didn’t provide any details of what Smash fans can expect—the translation of the announcement only announces unspecified adjustments to game balance—previous patches have rebalanced many of the game’s characters and occasionally altered broader aspects of gameplay in an effort to ensure a more fun and competitive experience overall.
Patch 1.1.6 will take up 61 MB of space on the Wii U and 325 MB on the 3DS. It should arrive on both consoles before the end of the month.
