Titanfall’s next game update will add an 8v8 Pilots-only mode and phase Marked for Death into the permanent rotation, developer Respawn Entertainment announced.

“Pilot Skirmish” will strip out AI and Titans to accommodate the expanded player size, which is usually restricted to 12—six IMC, six Militia—and will likewise not be included in the Variety Pack playlist (since it would require jumping from 6v6 to 8v8 and, possibly, back again).

Instead of rotating Marked for Death out for Wingman Last Titan Standing—a 2v2 take on the normal Last Titan Standing mode—Respawn decided to permanently add the mode to Titanfall due to its “enduring popularity.” Wingman Last Titan Standing will instead be added to the game in a later update.

Other additions Update Six will bring includes three colorblind options (protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia), the option to buy individual Burn Cards from a limited and constantly changing stock, and a new “ultra-rare” Burn Card called Gambling is for Winners that lets you pluck a card from your full deck while still in a match, a Burn Card Auto Fill toggle. The update will also remove penalties for joining a game on the losing side of a match that’s more than half over.

A full list of other improvements and optimizations is available on Respawn’s lengthy Game Update Six post on Titanfall’s official website.

Respawn has yet to announce a release date for Update Six.
