2DS

Nintendo has announced that its Nintendo 2DS system will be getting an official price drop later this month.

From May 20th, 2016 the suggested retail price of the handheld will be dropped from $99.99 to just $79.99, the company announced. The lower priced SKU will still come pre-installed with a copy of Mario Kart 7.

“Nintendo 2DS is the best value available for a portable dedicated gaming system and is great for gaming on the go,” Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing, said. “The system has a library full of high-quality games for purchase, some in our Nintendo Selects category for less than $20 each, featuring Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Zelda.”

The Nintendo 2DS originally launched in 2013 for $129.99, before being dropped to $99.99 in August 2015.
