THE BUZZ: Nintendo has announced that the 3DS will be getting 3D video recording and two new Mario games this Holiday season.
This November, a new system update will enable users to capture and view 3D video footage, it also adds new experiences for those who have completed all of the StreetPass challenges.
November 13th will see the release of Super Mario 3D Land, the first-ever 3D Mario platforming adventure. The game features “Propeller Blocks” and StreetPass functionality. Mario Kart 7 also releases on December 4th, bringing a new first person driving mode that can be controlled using the gyro sensor. New playable characters like Lakitu and Metal Mario will appear, and a trick system, similar to Mario Kart Wii, will be included.
Additionally, Nintendo released some new footage for Super Mario 3D Land, so fans can get a better look at the game in action.
EGM’s TAKE: Nintendo is really trying to push the 3DS hardware this Holiday season in an attempt to bring in some massive sales before the Vita, their main competitor, releases next year.
