Several of Nintendo’s online services will be down tomorrow for “emergency maintenance,” extending the downtime from their regularly scheduled maintenance.

A list detailing when and what services would be affected was posted on Nintendo’s network status page:

Monday, January 28, 11 pm – Tuesday, January 29, 5 pm PT
Affected Services: Nintendo DS

• Network Services
• Pokémon Black Version
• Pokémon White Version
• Pokémon Black Version 2
• Pokémon White Version 2

Monday, January 28, 5 pm – Monday, January 28 6:00 pm PT
Affected Services: Wii U

• Match Making, Ranking, etc.
• Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper

Monday, January 28, 12 pm – 5 pm PT
Affected Services: Wii U, 3DS, Wii, DS

• Nintendo eShop (Wii U & 3DS)
• Wii Shopping Channel
• Nintendo DSi Shop

No word on what the “emergency” in “emergency maintenance” is, but at least it seems to only extend the expected downtime by an hour or so for each service.

Nintendo states that “during the emergency maintenance, parts of the affected services may be intermittently unavailable.” Which ought to be implicitly understood and expected, but hey—coffee is (often) hot. Handle with care.
