Nintendo trademarks Pokemon Delta Emerald in Japan

It appears that an enhanced version of Pokemon Emerald may be joining Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire in the future, if a new trademark filed by Nintendo is anything to go by.

Nintendo trademarked “Delta Emerald” in Japan on May 2, and it was officially made public today, May 29, Gematsu reports. Earlier this month, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company announced that it would be releasing remastered versions of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire as Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for 3DS and 2DS this November.

Considering that Pokemon Emerald was released as the third title in this series when they were originally released for Game Boy Advance, this trademark seems to suggest that the same will be happening with Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. However, nothing official has been announced yet.
