Exclusive color schemes are always part of Nintendo’s console lineups, and the handhelds are definitely no different. Hence, the 3DS XL (or LL) is getting another coat of paint for Japan.

Just revealed today by Nintendo of Japan, the company is releasing a new “Blue Black” 3DS LL model, which will be available in the region for ¥18,900 on September 27th.

It’s a pretty snazzy look for the 3DS XL, although the name isn’t nearly as dramatic as anything in the original 3DS line (Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Misty Pink, Ice White, and so on).

Nintendo of America’s own official 3DS webpage has no such news to share. However, the most prized variation of the 3DS XL model might just be the all-white version that’s exclusive to Japan for odd reasons.
