Speaking to Digital Spy, CEO and founder of Crytek Cevat Yerli unsurprisingly confirmed there will be no Wii U version of Crysis 3.
“There has been discussions between Nintendo and EA and Crytek, but the bottom line is that there is that there’s not enough business drive in it,” Yerli told Digital Spy. ”It’s a purely business decision. I’d love to see it on Wii U, but what I love to see and what gets done at the end of the day are two different things. Even so, I could initiate it but someone has to sell it, right?”
Considering how Crysis 3 is only a few weeks away from release, this shouldn’t be so shocking. It stands to reason that news of a Wii U version would have leaked by now—even if Crytek were to release Crysis 3 on Wii U at a later date.
Crysis 3 comes out for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 February 19 in North America, February 22 in Europe.
