No Journey Collector’s Edition for Europe
Posted on June 27, 2012 AT 03:52am

In a rather sad announcement, thatgamecompany has revealed that a European release for the recently announced Journey Collector’s Edition is unlikely, due to it not being economically viable.
The U.S. release is set for August 28, but it seems that high localization costs will prevent an EU release. ”We wish Europeans could get it, but there’s nothing we can do. The best thing for you to do is bug @PlayStationEU,” said thatgamecompany on Twitter. ”If we could release it in Europe, we would, but it’s not up to us where it gets released.”
The developer added that along with localization costs “there’s also manufacturing, advertising, translating (documentary and dev commentaries), shipping, dealing with retailers, etc.” So EU fans have two options, either import a copy from the U.S. or download the games from PSN without the extra content.
Thatgamecompany did offer a glimmer of hope to EU fans however, ”We’re not in charge of which regions get the #JourneyPS3 CE, but I’ll see if the excluded regions can get the extra content on PSN,” a representative said.
